Is this the final destination for any girl?

Aanya entered the office as on any other day, full of zeal and passion to take the world in her stride. For Aanya each day was special and she would create such a lively work environment for all her colleagues that her presence alone would make the team feel motivated. After all, she was handling a team of passionate creative designers who were as enthusiastic about their work as Aanya herself.

As she entered her cabin, there was a pleasant surprise waiting for her - a nicely decorated cabin with a bouquet of flowers, a thoughtful card with many hidden admirations and a nice gift pack. And why not, she deserved at least this much from her team on her thirtieth Birthday. She unpacked the gift to find a premium watch gifted by her team. A silent message – take out time for yourself!

The entire day went off really well at work.

In the evening, Aanya returned home smiling as usual after a day that was well spent at office… a day that was made special & memorable by her colleagues and team mates. Her father was busy reading the newspaper and mother in Kitchen as usual…

As she entered, her father asked about how the day was…and she narrated the whole series of incidents that happened during the day with super excitement…the office surprise, the flowers, gift and all.

Though her parents also felt good listening to her as she was happy while telling all this, but she could sense a kind of uneasiness though their expressions. By the time she could realize the reason behind their anxiety her father gathered the strength to finally ask Aanya - “Till when are you going to stay like this…you are already 30?”

Aanya was stunned to hear this the way it was said. She was Speechless. She didn’t know who to react. She was happy with her style of living, she never felt a need to have anyone else in her life besides her parents, she wanted to be her own admirer, her own boss, an independent lady. Or probably she didn’t find anyone till now who could touch the chords of her heart.

But for parents this was a matter of huge concern, they wanted to marry her off as soon as possible as she had already crossed the marriageable age as per them.

Was this really such a big concern worth being disturbed for? Or is it just the mindset that a girl is incomplete till she gets married, even though she is content with her life and whatever she does as an individual making her own identity evident.
